ROYALTY SOAPIE FOUNDATION
EDUCATION, GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
The Royalty Soapie Foundation (RSF) is the Royalty Soapie Awards’ social responsibility programme. It guides and supports young people’s career aspirations in the performing arts and creative industries. The Foundation has given meaning to the Awards, as the focus now extends beyond the glitz and glamour of one night into a long-term social responsibility programme. The RSF aims to bridge the gap of access to and information about careers and opportunities in the performing arts and creative industry through the establishment of the Acting Industry Skills Development Programme (AISDP).
Our goal is to take South African Soapies to the world and to introduce first world thinking to the South African industry. We upskill and empower the future leaders of the industry, so that they may carry this impressive legacy forward into the next generation. If we empower our people, they will affect positive change in our communities and in our economies.
Royalty Soapie Motivational Talks:
Our motivational talks are a great way to inspire and encourage our youth to push themselves out of their comfort zone and teach them the importance of self-belief and having a positive attitude. Our motivational talks educate the youth on all career opportunity areas within the film, arts and television industry, exposing them to so much more than just acting. Many of our youths believe that they can only follow a career in acting and do not realise the wide range of disciplines within the industry, i.e.: art direction, photography, styling, directing, producing, writing and so much more. Request a call back so that we may discuss further.
Job Shadowing Program:
The Foundation’s priority and goal is to provide underprivileged rural and township youth communities an introductory platform into the film and arts industry through our partnerships with production companies. The program provides an opportunity for youth to be a part of a television production to work in a discipline relating to the industry: scripting, editing, camera work, lighting, production logistics. Organisations that wish to align their Corporate Social Responsibility Programs (CSR) with our initiatives kindly request a call back so that we may discuss further.
Matric Dance Dress & Suit Donation Program:
High school students often miss out on their final year high school celebration – their Matric Dance, because they cannot afford the required attire. Used evening gowns and suits are collected from celebrities and donated to less fortunate matric students for their matric dances.
If you wish to donate your dress and/or suit kindly request a call back and we will contact you to make collection and donation arrangements.
